If we appoint Phil Brown, I'm ringing up and asking for a refund on my season ticket.  Seriously.

we need the right manager not a quick one,
if it takes another 4/5 weeks to get the right man for Villa it will be worth it.

we are in a mess,
but thats what you get when someone walks out at short notice, the very worst thing to do is appoint someone, anyone just to fill the gap

were in the same situation last season with a bad loss in the league and out of europe, and that was with a manager,

all this stuff about freefall, and laughing stock is just crap, absolute crap, let them get on with finding the best manager, give them time to make the right choice,
and we will be better of for it.

time to trust in Randy, and not lose faith when things look bad

Phil Brown WAS at Villa Park - I saw and spoke to him by the McGregor statue after
West Ham match - one or two passing fans joked with him about the manager's job
and he smiled back and said he was working for the media (but I don't recall him
being pundit for Tv or radio since he left Hull)

I would be totally underwhelmed if this is the type of manager Mr Lerner would
appoint

Spot on. This is the reality. No half decent, currently employed manager is going to leave his post right now, so we can bleat on about the board finding someone asap, but reality is pretty stark
1. Panic and get a stop gap manager in in order to appease the growing discontent
2. Keep Kevin Mc in charge, write off the season, search for the right man and hope to god that by the time we find him we are not playing Championship football.

What worries me is the lack of football men involved at the club right now. We need this decision to be made by a football man and not by a load of hired exec suits and good intentioned Americans.

Lets face it no one will ever be good enough to appease our supporters - even if it was Jose Morinho or Fergie there would be people on here doubting their credentials.

They've had 3 weeks to interrogate a list of about 5 candidates who are available right now and are up to the job - they won't all want it because lets face it is a thankless task unless you can win the league within three seasons on a modest budget. No one like Hiddink, Jol or Hitzfeld will come here because we are a CV wrecker. Just pick someone who is willing to give it a shot then in 3 years we can go through this whole charade again as the next bloke who fails to live up to the unrealistic expectations of our supporters trapped in 1982 becomes disillusioned and quits.

Are we a cv wrecker? If oneil hadn't of walked out when he did I wouldn't of said what he'd achieved here would wreck his cv. Yes it's a high profile job. Hodgson hit the nail on the head after the Liverpool match last night. When a club as big as Liverpool (and I put villa in this category) lose it's like a crisis of world war 3 epic proportions.
That's the responsibility you have to deal with when you're managing a top club.
I wouldn't say we're a cv wrecker at all. Demanding HELL YES! but aren't all fans?
Just a shame that Wiki's ottmar hitzfeld page yesterday about him being unveiled as the new villa boss today hasn't turned out to be true.

Not had this for a while. When in doubt blame the supporters.

according to macdonald, we havent even interviewed anyone yet, so have not "interrogated" anyone in 3 weeks....

that for me, is unnacceptable...

the fact that it appears to be all down to macdonald deciding whether he wants to apply for the job or not, before we even speak to anyone (again, according to macdonald), makes it look whoever we do actually interview, which will be 4 weeks after the manager left, they will be thought of as our second choice...

the whole thing has been an absolute farce... whether that is down to macdonald not saying the right things in the media or not is irrellivent, as it stands, according to macdonald, we will not even be starting interviews until 4 weeks after the o'neill chucked his dollies...
