Just out of interest, when is the cut of point for stopping blaming MON?  When the new manager arrives?  January when he can buy his own players?  This time next year so he'll have had a full pre-season?
This entire season will be impacted purely by the fact he fucked off when he did.

Long term his squad will also impact on how the team progress too. I can't see how if the likes of DOL and JG's buys were still impacting on Villa and used even now to show how MOn had to clear out so many that the same won't be said about Mon.
After all he did leave behind some highly over paid, very peripheral players. My hope is that the new guy has more nous and can do something useful with them. more useful than paying a huge wage to sit in the stands or occasionally sit on the bench. At least the likes of Davis, McCann, Hughes, Sorensen even Baros, Angel served a purpose even if it was limited, Heskey, Sidwell and others, well

His use of them is one argument, but the players you mentioned would have been starters in the DOL side he inherited.  There's a big difference in what you have to work with from a squad that finished 16th from a squad that finished 6th.

But that was not relevant to your question, was it?
The quality of the shit left by Dol, is probably poorer, especially to a Mon fan, than the shit left by Mon. I'm sure Salifou, Sidwell, Shorey, now gone thanks, Heskey perhaps, would have set Dol's team alight.

Hmm well maybe not, but the point is a new manager will still have to deal with what he has and respond accordingly, just as Mon did. I'm sure if one becomes a keen adorer of the new man any problem he has will be blamed on Mon and why not.
plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

I wasn't talking about the players he left behind.

I was talking about the general chaos (no manager, no time to appoint one before the window closes) he's left in fucking off at such a thoughtless time.

Well Lerner is in the stands tonight, so clearly doing something Villa related. Off Topic but Lerner can't afford to lose to much more weight, he is starting to luck like Tom Hanks in Philidephia.

I thought the same.

Even more off topic, but that look of his with a shirt, tie, jumper and jacket really doesn't work these days.

I can tell you from experience paulie that N.America is a year or so behind in the trends dept. I would also say that in Cleveland he is probably ahead of the curve..

Firstly I must say KM is a great COACH.

But would anyone have taken a loss tonight in exchange for not having KM as manager, and having a proper manager in place?

I would.

I have a suspicion that a new manager will be announced before the Everton match.

If there was any lingering doubt that KM should get the job, tonight has answered that question - NO. We need a proven manager not a gamble. Our season is falling apart already, Randy pull one out the bag, quick!!!

If we defend like that on Sun, it's going to be another horror show.

Even Jermaine Beckford might score
