Anyone who expected top 4 this season was deluded.

So what about our top 4 chances this season?

In my current state of mind I'll be happy with avoiding the bottom 4.  I may change my mind after the next game.

Our defence has just been obliterated when run at or when the ball is crossed into the box.

Have Villa had a shot on target? I just hope our away form doesn't revert to pre MON days.

Because we have no midfield.

Hands up who managed to under-estimate how much work Milner did in the middle?

To be fair, I don't think many people did underestimate that. But then, I don't think too many people thought we would play Stephen Ireland in a center-midfield two.

We do have a long and not so proud history of lying down to promoted teams after all.

45 Minutes gone and Ireland is shit, Petrov is shit, Dunne, Clark, Warnock and Young L. are crap, the midfield doesn't work, the owner and board are idiots for not getting a new manager yet, Kevin MacDonald isn't fit to be our manager and the end of the world is nigh.

A slight over-reaction or two.
You think it's all going according to plan then?
Is that what I said? Am I not right?
It's difficult to tell what your opinion is since you offer none of your own, content as you are to criticise those of others.

Do you seriously expect after 45 minutes of football which has seen us go 0-3 down to a newly promoted team, on a match thread, to get sober and balanced analysis of the owners, management, and players?  Come on.

MY opinion, as I stated is that the reaction of a number of people on here is over the top.

Are we playing well? Not in the least.
Is it embarrassing? Yes.
Does that automatically mean that every player we have is shit and that the board and owner are clueless and that our caretaker manager is shit? No, of course it doesn't.
Do I expect sober and rational analysis? No, unfortunately not, it would be nice though wouldn't it?

We looked the better side for large parts of the first half. IF Carew had scored the penalty, if Petrov had got on the end of the cross, if Friedel hadn't palmed the header away so poorly.

If only my 5 year old nephew hadn't gone to the match as his first experience at a football match and as a Villa fan.

A little bit. We're a car with no engine now. Fucking useless! Ireland's been played in a pointless position for him, and Petrov can't cope on his own with 3 central midfields all over him.

Bobbins.

Partially, although the awful attempts to clear crosses is down to the defence.

Because we have no midfield.

I don't even recall us getting a corner, never mind a shot on target
