Just got in the car, well what can I say? Absolutely outstanding, the passing and movement was a joy to watch, i know its easy to get carried away but after the brand of football we've been playing for the past few years it really was a breath of fresh air today, oh and one last thing, Marc Albrighton.... We've unearthed a gem!

Listened on absolute radio - Phil Brown obsessed over Clarke so assuming he had good game and Albrighton sounded awesome at times, esp. for Milner goal.

Great to see the youngens get a game!
The commentator here couldn't stop praising Albrighton and Clark - and rightly so.

Edvard liked it! :)
Why do you think that?

I am sooooo happy. Mother inlaw was here, and i told her not to speak, and drank shots partying during the game hehe. Wife did not like that :) but i told her, we have our priorities inorder in my family....1 Villa 2 the rest

Agreed.  The stand-out pair by a mile.

I really can't wait to see the write-ups on albrighton tomorrow, I reckon the kid is going to have to buy a fair few picture frames to mount the back pages in.

Just saw this on the Beeb website.

Former Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel on Twitter:   "Outstanding performance by Aston Villa! Delighted for Kevin McDonald he has done an incredible job for the Villa youngsters over the years!"

i really love Angel! He is a villain. I specially remember my first villa game, where he missed a penalty and made an own goal. After the game i spoke to him, and had a picture with him. So strong to come out to see the fans after that - only a good person would show his face in public after a nightmare like that. (i think i will twit this to him)

I was sure that with the likes of A. Young, Downing, Petrov ad Milner we had the potential to play an entertaining, passing, attacking football. The problem is that under MON this potential remained repressed under his defensive and  long ball tactics.
And a bit of fresh air with Albrighton, who seems to be an outstanding right winger, and Clark.
Big mac deserves a chance.

Strange weather at Villa Park today  ;D

Superb performance. Downing & Young were very good and very creative.

Carew would have had a hat trick on another day.

Petrov worked his socks off and showed some very nice touches.

Albrighton was superb. MOTM IMO. Very energetic and full of tricks.

Well done McDonald. He got everything spot on today.

with Collins and Cuellar still to come, the competition for the defence is going to be fierce.

petrov ireland midfield combo looks good but its a bit lightweight. We need another hard tackling midfielder. Reo Coker looks unfit.

With Gabby Weimann and the Fonz, maybe its best to wait till we move for a new striker. I think Heskeys days are numbered.

Of the big wage earners i reckon Davies, one of Sidwell/Reo Coker, Heskey should be released.

Luke Young has to stay, specially since we need backup for warnock as well.

Luke Young did well today, made some good runs forward. We've missed that.

Just back from the game. In haste.A cracking game, performance and result. Even Stan woke up now that he realises he might have to earn his place.

Albrighton was superb, Clark played well, and I was delighted for Milner to get the goal.
