Any assumptions about the management team below Houllier is just speculation at the moment. The manager and his working relationship with his assistant has to be a good one. Kevin Mac could get a job in charge of youth development and reserve football for example and still be a very important member of the backroom team.

It's diabolical this.

No other football club acts so slowly as ours in doing anything.

It's true. Everything seems to be an almighty pfaff. Shouldn't be much longer though. I'm not exactly ecstatic, but i suppose it could have been worse, i.e Zola, Southgate, Bob Beamon or Macca.

A journalist from The Times has confirmed on Twitter that the FFF have allowed Houllier to leave to manage Aston Villa.

A quick google reveals that all the dodgy rumour sites seem to be hinting something is going to happen tonight...is late though.. maybe 9pm announcement and press conference tomorrow?

Either way... it looks as good as done.... so lets get behind him now... he's claret and blue
