No, he's now in Chez Joules.  A statement will be released later this afternoon as to whether he went for the set menu... starter and main (dishes with an * against them) for £12.95  or, with wanton abandon ordered just what he wanted.

Lunchtime menu, £8.95. Salade de chorizo followed by Blanc de poulet saute. He particularly commended the gratin dauphinois.

No it wasn't. He signed a few players early. We all knew he liked to leave it until near the end of the window, but there was no hint whatsoever that we would be making signings this summer. There was also talk there was no money to spend, so nobody had a clue what was going on. In previous years we knew there was money to spend. That and the fact the Milner saga was allowed to drag on makes this summer one of the worst I can remember as a Villa fan.

Ie, in the past he signed some players quite early on - Sidwell, Downing, Reo-Coker. This year..well..

You're right, it's just another of those internet myths. We've only signed about half a dozen players in the last two weeks of the summer window since Lerner/O'Neill. The January window is different in that almost all deals are done during the last two weeks.

Yes, but we knew that MON would leave it late anyway, as he has always done at Leicester and Celtic before us. This summer was different. There was so much talk of no money to spend. That Milner had to be sold to generate funds to use. We had that statement from MON saying he wouldn't be rushed and he preferred to leave it late. Nobody can deny that this summer was a complete shambles from top to bottom.
