Wasn't the reason MON quit because he wasn't being given the Milner money to spend, is money suddenly going to be available now we've got Houllier in charge.
Well as the window is now closed I would expect he will take time to assess his squad then get rid of the players he does not want in Jan 2011.....He at a guess may be given £5m and whatever he makes from his sales. One thing is for certain all you Heskey haters, people who boo him when he warms up at VP had better get used to him being in the team

On the one hand Spangley, he did sign Heskey, but he also sold him.

Again, no he didn't, Aulas and Lacombe have full control of transfers at Lyon. Houllier had a very limited role indeed in transfers.

My understanding is that there will be funds available to the new manager in January.
I also understand that O'Scumbag left because he was asked to reduce the wage bill, nothing to do with the Milner cash.

I am disappointed that so far we have not managed to appoint Carlos Coachalotti or Jeurgen Van der Trainer to appease the masses!

I've got no time for Heskey at all, but i'd never dream of booing him.

I understand MON left as he didnt want to sell Milner, he did not want Ireland and he was told on that fateful monday he wasnt getting any of the £18m from the Milner deal. Since he left the club, they have added to the wage bill by resigning Marshall when we have 2 good young goalie's who are better than Marshall anyway so the club cant be that bothered about the wage bill. Having said that they are not paying MON and his 5 staff so that will save some money

Well The General stated that the Milner money was NOT held back from MON, so I can only take him at his word.

I can't see any reason why the General wouldn't be honest about that, because it'd be fairly obvious with any new manager if they weren't being given any money.

I thought the problem was down to the waste of wages not getting near the team.

Marshall isn't on anywhere near what Sidwell, Davies, Beye and Shorey were on.

GH would be a little left-field and a little safe.  Perfect well-balanced appointment or a bland, tepid mixture?  Results will tell.

I'm pretty open minded about it all so feeling positive mainly because, as others have posted, he seems an honourable bloke and that's important I think.
