If Houllier is appointed i hope I am completely wrong, maybe he will modernize our scouting structure and bring some new ideas, but I can't see it.Since he left Liverpool he managed Lyon for 2 years, retained their title both times, but left because they weren't happy that he hadn't improved them from Le Guen's time.He hasn't even been mentioned for any other PL job in years. He signed Milan Baros twice ffs! Got rid of Carew and Friedel in his days.I will get behind him of course if he is appointed, but I'll be extremely underwhelmed!
No Sven in particular would come for the money and would be off within a year or two. What we want is stability.
I can't actually believe I'm having to debate that Houllier is not the right man. I thought there would be universal uproar at this.

And let's not forget that the vindictive timing of O'Neill's walkout has contributed to the relative paucity of the list of managers being considered.
Houllier would be fine as far as I'm concerned. Someone who would encourage us to play to feet, be more tactically aware and make better use the talented players we have - not to mention that he would significantly widen our scouting network.I don't see anything that's not to like - it's an opportunity for the club to broaden its horizons from the English based strategy that has probably taken us as far as it can.
