I would imagine now the decision is probably made and hopefully tomorrow we
may finally be put out of our long wait- here's hoping it's the right man .
That's quite a vivid imagination you have there.

I fail to see what Curbsley has done to make people think he would not be a good appointment for us in our present state.  The guy constantly did a good job at Chalton on little money [which is what our next manager might be asked to do], saved West Ham from almost certain relegation, and stablised them in the mid-table the following season.

Fact is we are not going to get anyone better than MON, most those managers are either in jobs and happy or won't take on a team outside the CL.  And given the lack of good candates AC would tick most of the right boxes, experiecned, cool head, works well with young players, and quite smart in the transfer market.  If we could get Jol then I would say go for it, but since I don't think we will be able to get him, then Curbs would be my choice.

We can say it Paulie, outsiders can't.

I draw attention to it because if he rocked up you'd just know he'd peddle the 'famous club/ historic club' shtick which would confirm to me the insincerity of the man.

We've had two self-serving (to different degrees) arrogant waffle kings in the job recently. A change might be nice is all.

The headline says "Houllier lands Villa job", but when you read the article, it just says we're interviewing him

Not the same thing.

Unconfirmed from  'a source' Houllier and Moxley doesn't usually fly kites.

If Curbishley gets the Villa job, Randy might as well sell up. I'm really not joking, if that's the kind of level we can get, then we're going nowhere but backwards.

But Monty who are we going to get who is as good or better than the last manager.  Like I said the next level up won't come because of us not being in the CL, and the likes of Moyles and Jol who are around the same bracket are already settled in jobs, as is Hughes.  When you take those names out of it, and look at the list AC is the best choice.

Sorry, I don't follow that train of thought at all.

Take out Jol, Moyes and Hughes (with a 12 gauge would be my preference for the latter) and AC becomes the best available bloke in Europe, possibly the world for the job?

Much as I wouldn't particularly want Houllier, Sven and co they are light years ahead of AC. In method and success.
