I feel i have to explain myself now, it did not even occur to me that the players he listed were black, i just see them  as Villa players i only see claret and blue

Fair enough.
dave it took me back to a comment you made about the players getting off the coach at VP and not responding to people that would happily throw themselves under the coach for The Villa, that was what i was getting at, sadly i was to naive to understand that somehow people still think that BFR is a racist

Is Carlos in the frame? I certainly hope so as I have €4 on him at 250/1....

The appointment of getting a manager is becoming almost as tedious as watching Big bastard Brother every night.

This whole interview process is a load of bollox and we are more and more becoming a laughing stock. Curbishley has been out of football for 2 years and Houllier has got a pace maker. I'm struggling to understand why we can't approach a currently employed manager as long as we get permission. If not just unsettle him spurs style.

It's true I don't have a great opinion of Premier League footballers.

Being Aston Villa, we expect and should get the very best manager we can.  I know that the board recognise this, but have a feeling they're so committed to playing it with a straight bat we will have to settle for a second choice manager.

If this is to be the case, I've got mixed emotions - on one hand we should be commended for such moral behaviour, but I just wish (and hope) we have pulled something out of the hat and nicked someone top drawer.  Something about nice guys never winning...

I am of the opinion that Randy was keen to talk with Curbishley as he's an ex Villa player as wel as an ex Prem. Manager.

I hope the intrigue stopped there.

Let's wait and see - we could all be in for a huge shock!

For the first time ever in the history of broadcast radio, Phil Upton had a fair point on his show this morning.  Harping on about ' building a dynasty' with MON started, Curbishley & MacDonald are the 2 appointments that would, given the loyalty they've shown, carry on this mantra.

On the other hand, your 'maverick'  continental types will only stick around a couple of years, & we'll be doing this process all over again.

This all makes me very confused as to who I actually want - as opposed to who would actually do the best job.

I'm totally brassed off with the whole thing.. The available cantidates are poor and unless Randy is so persuasive that Davie boy rushes down from Everton or Hiddink comes over from whichever European tax haven he's in at the moment then I think we need to stabilise and try to rescue a season which has the potential to go tits up in a big way.
I think the idea if BFR in combination with Kmac and the present coaching staff would work... At least we would have some entertainment rather than the fairly sterile stuff played out last season.

Good God, not Curbishley.  What are they thinking.  I just feel we are going back into a malaise.  What a pisser.

Curbs would be better than Southgate, MacDonald, Zola or Bradley, on a par with Houllier and Klinsmann, worse than Koeman, Erikkson or Jol and miles behind Hinnink or Moyes. Thats about how i see it.
