And Zarate apparently, so I guess they've given up on Magic Ashley.

Moyes is OK, but I can't see why he would move from Everton to us.

Bigger club, better squad, more money, better facilities and a bigger stadium. Larger catchment area and the biggest club in the region as opposed to the 4th biggest in theirs.

It might not be a big enough step up to warrant the move, but he aint gonna get a bigger offer than Villa any time soon. Why risk his stock falling by staying at Everton even longer?

better squad is very debatable... I'd take their midfield over ours (I am clashing Ash as a forward...  :)  )

Me shoving a tenner on Moyes earlier at 50-1 has probably caused all the fuss..........

I saw those odds a few days ago and thought they were ridiculously long. Ah well.

If Everton accept bids for Pienaar and Rodwell I can see Moyes walking.

I don't think he'd walk if Peinaar was sold because he's out of contract next year anyway i think, but with Rodwell, you may be right,

He would fill MON's vacuum. If he does come I would imagine he would have been promised a transfer kitty of somekind even if he can't spend it yet!

I know its just internet chat, but two comments, from two different posters from Toffeeweb:-

"Just got an email from a mate who works for a sports agency, there is some truth in this".

"Ok, just to start i hope this is all rubbish, but i heard it and the bookies are closeing ranks so im going to pass it on. I dont know how true it is - so take it as usual forum rubbish.

Right i was in work today and got a call from a mate of mine who is closely related to an Irish player playing in the prem (same lad has told me stuff about bits and bobs in the past and been right), he told me the player in question had called him and told him to put whatever he could on David Moyes being the next Aston Villa manager - i thought he was the wind up as hes a red like most of the family.

Anyway i checked the odds as i was at a computer in work at about 12:00 and they were 8-1 with P Power. I thought nothing of it, after leaving work i met him and he showed me his betting slip where he had put a few hundread on Moyes, i checked the odds again on P Power and Moyes had massively closed in at 7/4.

See here: http://www.paddypower.com/football/f...grp_ids=348942

Driving home i stoped in on Boylesports over here out of intrest and they had closed the book on it.

Like i say i hope all of this is rubbish - it could well be, it probably is, but im just passing on what i heard. Hopefully its a case of a bad rumour that caght fire and nervy bookies".

If we swooped for moyes it would be a huge coup and a great statement of our ambition- many reckon he will be man utds next boss but I would be hugely impressed if we got moyes!

Moyes must've been overwhelmed by how we totally outplayed Everton on Sunday that he just had to join...oh, wait...

Didn't Moyes sign Phil Neville and Tony Hibbert? Surely more than a match for some of MON's signings, and then some!
