Moyes would be a great appointment and would also be a good statement of intent as well.

On Ladbrokes now... Can anyone explain why the Moyes option is now suspended?

05 Sep. 23:59 Next permanent Aston Villa manager  David Moyes  Susp.
  Kevin MacDonald  4/1
  Sven Goran Eriksson  5/1
  Mark Hughes  6/1
  Gerard Houllier  9/1
  Gareth Southgate  12/1
  Bob Bradley  12/1
  Martin Jol  14/1
It means big money is being put on Moyes that has spooked them or they have inside info.

Look at this way,

Who has been more successful in the transfer Market over the last 4 years, Moyes or Martin?

Now who has spent more?

I have to say I find that a slightly underwhelming list. Even if you add Moyes to it, there's no-one there who gets the pulses racing. They're all at least one rung below the calibre I was hoping for. Still, no-one's been appointed yet so there's always hope.

I enjoy listening to Collymore, always gives his own opinion, not the shit they tell him to say.

Where has this Moyes rumour suddenly come from?

I think he is a great manager and will initially bring some great ideas to villa - primarily because he plays a 4-5-1 formation which I think would suit villa - however I think Everton's spending will be pretty much the same as villa's from here-on-in.  And by that I think Moyes has generally made one big signing each summer (yakubu, felanni, johnson, Billy (the russian fella)).

Do we think he knows of a few more Arteta's or has he used up his bargains at Everton?

this is very interesting...... apparantly betting has "snowballed" since yesterday and moyes has dropped from 33/1  - 4/1

i know the bookies doing this isnt gospel but they are correct most of the time

but speaking with you heads,  would you think that joing villa is a big enough step up from everton to move ?

SSN just reported the Moyes romour. That means little as they are saying no more than odds have drastically dropped but its a rumour I like.

That's the problem, he loves the sound of his own voice and he's  bit of an idoit but thinks he more intelligent than he actually is. At least he's on our side, unlike that miserable twat Houghton.

Moyes is OK, but I can't see why he would move from Everton to us.

Me shoving a tenner on Moyes earlier at 50-1 has probably caused all the fuss..........

I don't want Moyes. His team yesterday were a filthy lot. Very subtle about it but filthy all the same. The ref fell for everything and they won far too many free kicks for aboslutely nothing.

While we were under siege for much of the game, their only real threat came from Arteta's brilliant dead balls. In my view Moyes is only one level up from MON and we can do much better.

I expect Villa to carry on significantly outspending Everton net because our turnover is continuing to rise significantly. The issue at Villa were the ever spiralling wage bill and MON's gung-ho approach to dishing out wages.
