At the moment I'm finding it hard to see past Klinsmann. He's the perfect candidate in my view, and if he wants it we should hire him.

I'd certainly take Kinnsmann over Sven. Surely it won't be someone like Curbishley?

Or Phil Browne, he looked rather sheepish last night on MOTD when asked about Villa. Is there any industrial strength sun beds to be delivered to Bodymor in the next few weeks. Christ!

Regardless of Sven's achievements, look at his average tenure. 4 years the longest he's stayed at the club, and usually he's out after a couple of seasons. Do we really want to be the the position of finding another manager and building a new team in 2 years?

I'm assuming that when the board talk about having Premier League experience they actually mean experience of doing well in the Premier League, and that pretty much rules out people like Phil Brown.

Anyone who thinks it'll be a Phil Brown-level of appointment needs their head examined.

Can someone please tell me why Klinsmann would be such a good choice?  Had Bayern not fired him, they would probably have missed out on Europe altogether, let alone the Champions League.  His team were a basket case that shipped 5 to Wolfsburg and Bremen (I think).  The score one more than your opponents approach is fine, but we barely have the personnel to score one, let alone one more.

If he's to succeed he'll need a tactical mastermind as a very strong number 2.

A spurs fan I know has got money on it being Tony Mowbray. They get their highest placing in the league since '92 and all the altitude seems to have starved their brains of oxygen.

The thought of Chris Smith endlessly defending Mowbray is almost worth appointing him. Almost.

Not a fucking chance of me defending that sour faced ******. He'd be right up your street thought with his 200 passes to achieve fuck all philosophy.

If Klinsmann come in he will be able to appoint coaching staff to work with the like of McAndrews, Cowans and MacDonald. He should be intelligent enough to realise he can't play extreme attacking game as we don't have the firepower to outscore team. I predict Miloslav Klose to move to Villa in January as his first signing.
