Regardless of Sven's achievements, look at his average tenure. 4 years the longest he's stayed at the club, and usually he's out after a couple of seasons. Do we really want to be the the position of finding another manager and building a new team in 2 years?

Can someone please tell me why Klinsmann would be such a good choice?  Had Bayern not fired him, they would probably have missed out on Europe altogether, let alone the Champions League.  His team were a basket case that shipped 5 to Wolfsburg and Bremen (I think).  The score one more than your opponents approach is fine, but we barely have the personnel to score one, let alone one more.

If he's to succeed he'll need a tactical mastermind as a very strong number 2.

If Klinsmann come in he will be able to appoint coaching staff to work with the like of McAndrews, Cowans and MacDonald. He should be intelligent enough to realise he can't play extreme attacking game as we don't have the firepower to outscore team. I predict Miloslav Klose to move to Villa in January as his first signing.
