My only reservation would be a perceived lack of trandfer knowledge, as he hasn't really been involved in the transfer side of things. We a DOF maybe?

Your only reservation? For me he has no credentials whatsover to be managing a European Club side.

Ok perhaps not my ONLY reservation, however I'd take a punt on him over, Curbishly, Allardyce, Bruce, McCleish, Hughes, Reid etc etc any day. Coupled with a Director of football, then I wouldn't be despairing. Far from my first choice, but as I said, better than any of the above. Only my opnion though.

Who is it you want?

so would i

Pelligrini at 99/1 at Betfair.  I wonder if a few texts/tweets/facebook/posts to various sites could make his odds tumble...

To appoint someone who has no experience at this level i.e Bradley would be so underwhelming, what fans need is a manager that gives them hope that the agenda for Villa hasn't changed.

Ha ha, that was the least convincing ruling of ones self out ever from McLeish on SSN just now.

Oh cracking, what did he say?

I don't want him but a bit of speculation to wind them up resulting in a statement from our board saying 'Alex McLeish is not on our shortlist' would be great.

I don't want him and I don't want them to think we'd consider that their manager would in anyway be qualified to manage us.

I've been telling my nose mates that we are interested in having him manage our canteen and that it would be a big step up for him.

I'd take Bruce, McCleish and Hughes ahead of Bradley.  But what we need is a manager better than Martin, which I don't think any of them are.

didnt we say we wanted someone a bit different, not same old same old,
time to take a bit of a risk, well Bob Brad is it.
as soon as it looks like a manager no one knows much about is coming, its all 'no prem experience' ' no transfer knowledge' no this no that,

thats what a 'breath of fresh' is, the unpredicable

If we're going for something different in the way you suggest I'd rather take a punt on Klinsmann.

so would i,

but we are not being linked with him in the same way, so i'm just making a case for BB,
but i'm with you, there are better opptions in my view, and Klinsman would be one of them

Playing devils advocate for a minute. Do we really need what is best for the fans? or the best man for the job?

There is no standout candidate and our club is low in the ratings following Mons exit. Add in all the negative speak on balancing the books, players leaving, a lack of dynamism from the clubs leadership, talkof low funding, is it at all surprising the candidate list is so poor.
As things are Blues, fulham, even Blackpool must seem better propositions, its nearly as bad as the Ellis days.
We need strong vibrant and positive leadership, its obvious from the initial media coverage when Mon quit, the clubs profile is not good, its much below what it should and needs to be.
Is it surprising then that the likes of Bradley, McClaren,Sven, Hoddle  is the best we can expect. Perhaps an unknown or little known talent who can make up for lack of experience with ability and a desire to make a name is our best option. Villa is not te poisoned challice for managers it once was but it doesn't look, on recent press, the most dynamic hungry for success club either.

SSN aren't reporting anything about Bradley resigning.
