Looking at oddschecker there arent many bookies offering odds anymore, Paddy Power was there an hour or so back but isnt now and those left make Sven the favourite.

If we get Sven how many days before the Mirror report we are gonna signs Beckham?

=i thinks sven is a good manager but he doesnt half whore himself to any club he thinks has ££££

They have just suspended the market overnight in case something happens and catches them on the hop.

Check again in the morning.

MARADONA?!!??!

She's due a revamp/ image change, and she'd be good for the American market I guess.

Oh.

The real M is probably got through he 5th bucket of coke - like at the end of Scarface by now.

(great film by the way)

Now the dust has settled and the shock of oneil has gone i think giving Macdonald a crack is a much better option than a lot of the names on that list. Curbs, Fat Sam, robert duvall are all not good names to be brandishing around.

I'm certainly excited about the game saturday, we all know Mac is a good coach, most of us have seen the reserves play and been entertained so i can see us in safe hands saturday, with a good, well balanced attacking team.

Obviously I'd still go for the likes of rijkaard or Pellegrini but seriously what are the chances of that happening?

Have to go along with that. given the timing of MON's hissy fit, many managers will be reluctant to drop their clubs in it by leaving. Give him a month and assess it later

With regards Sven, i just don't know. One minute the idea repulses me, the next i'm swaying towards the idea (damn you lot with your persuasive ways!!)

It's just down to which Sven we get. I think since the england job, he's just decided to pick the easy jobs which have allowed him to make shit loads of money for little work while keeping his ego stroked (normally by a fit woman 2/3 is age)

But, if Sven is serious about management again, whats to prove to himself and the premiership that he can do it then we could have a very astute, shrewd manager on our hands with enough contacts across the world to make MI6's most secret agents jealous.

thing with Sven is that his biggest success i'd say was with Lazio where he spent an absolute fortune, something we haven't got. With England he was OK, but when it came to needing a plan B when things weren't working, he was clueless (sound familier). At City he started well by bringing in handfuls of players who were all i'd imagine on decent wages which meant several high earners either on the bench or not playing at all (again sound familier)!

And enough women to make Bond cry.

I don't know. At least Sven puts you on the map, has a huge pulling power for PLAYERS not just women, is very well respected by footballers and would likely be a bit more tactically astute that MON. BUT I then think of how poor England were against the ten men of Brasil, not keeping the ball, not changing the system etc, all problems I had with Martin. And Heskey too!

Ideally I would want someone more prgressive. Pellegrini would be great, but at least Sven might be interesting.

I agree with Ozzjim, he wouldn't be my first choice, but if MacDonald doesn't work out in the first few games I wouldn't mind bringing Sven in on an 18 month contract or something.

We can use him to raise our profile, help attract better players and perhaps even use his expertise to aid our search for a new manager?

Even keep him on the books in some capacity to help find new players etc.

I still want a Pellegrini or Bilic though.

that's what i mean Ozzjim, there's too many cons to go with the pros with alot of the names being banded about (realistic ones). That's why i'd chance it and go for Kevin Mac.

I seen that.

Moyes yesteday: "Not interested, building something here. We're going to have a good season."

McCleish:  "I don't want to talk about other jobs. I can't stop speculation."

He'd walk over hot coals get the job, make no mistake.

Wouldn't want him though, even if it would crush the Plebs down the road.

Oh cracking, what did he say?

I don't want him but a bit of speculation to wind them up resulting in a statement from our board saying 'Alex McLeish is not on our shortlist' would be great.

yeah but as someone pointed out on here before, how much of englands failure with sven was down to him or the players? Look at what Capello is doing now and he's a far better club manager than sven.
My god, i'm actually defending him!!!!! Whats happening to me?????? Arrrgghhh, i'm losing the plot here!

I don't want him and I don't want them to think we'd consider that their manager would in anyway be qualified to manage us.

There is no way McLeish is coming here. No way, not a chance. Never, never, never, never!
Anyways he is not good enough. I bet he is one of the "Many candidates" that have applied according to sky sports but i really dont thing there is a cat in hell's chance he'd get it. Bob Bradley has more of a chance than McLeish
