He has a really good weight and accuracy of passing. Stick that on NRC and you've got a hell of a player. Sadly, both are only half a player.

I see krulaks comments have made the back pages of the newspapers. Wonder if the media are going to dismiss them in keeping that halo from falling from oneil or if they're actually going to look into the situation Martin has left us in a little more.

Even more suprising is Andy grey has put his 2 pence worth in on the skysports website and actually for the first time ever makes sense and seems to side with villa and not oneil.

This isn't the first time he's been critical of O'Neill.

Tony Cascarino being more pro Villa than Martin on Sky.

Will be very interesting to see who we get. If a real big hitter won't come I would risk Sven on a 12 month deal.

True but he never seems to be pro villa either. Cascarino was really interesting.
"if a player left 5 days before the start of the season Martin wouldn't be happy"
And that at a football club u have high points and low. Martin was all for the high points and spending the money. But not prepared to take the low and reign in the costs a little.
Well said Tony!!

I would also risk Sven on a 12 month deal. If he get's top 6 then maybe a new contract?

The reducing wages has already started, with shorey now gone we must be at least 100k a week better off (than we were at the end of last season), once Milner goes that's closer to 140k, 1-2 more of the heskeys/sidwells will be enough to have that under control, particularly given the new sponsors.

Pretty much agree with all of your post Paul, but there is one slight flaw.
The problem is, no bugger wants any of our deadwood.
The simple fact is that they are on far too high salaries which no other club will pay, and the players themselves will not drop their wage demands.
I fear we will be stuck with a lot of the fringe players for some time yet.

luke Young was the big supprise for me, i mean it wasnt as if we were shipping him out to Blackpool, it was Liverpool and he still wouldnt budge,
unless he knew something of coarse, and thought he could comand a place under a different manager,

Sven is a parody of himself, and I can't remember the last time he was thought of in terms of his managerial ability rather than his penchant for leaving highly paid jobs and publicity. He can get knotted as far as I'm concerned.

We need a proper 'football man', as it were, and a man of moral integrity (if we know anything of Lerner it is that he only respects men worthy of respect). For my money I would welcome some one like Klinsmann, Bilic, even McClaren (although I'm possibly in a minority there, and actually considering he'sonly just gone to Wolfsburg that won't be possible). I'd also welcome a more risky appointment - Kevin Mac for the season to see how he gets on, or a manager from the Championship. But really, which club in theor right mind is going to let us speak to their manager this close to the beginning of the season? It is only going to be a man who is currently unemployed.

I am sure that Sidwell, maybe Beye, Heskey and 1-2 more will have suitors this window or next, so don't think it is an issue long term. Luke Young did not want to go back up north to be a reserve, nothing to do with money.

Whoever the next man is I think needs leeway to get maybe 2 of his own men in before getting rid of people.
