I voted for Jol, but when you see this record....its pretty impressive.

1x european cup final
3 x uefa cup finals - 1 win
1 x cup winers cup
1 x super cup
3 x portuguese league titles
1 x portuguese cup
1 x italian league title
4 x italian cups
2 x world cup quarter finals
1 x european championships quarter final

plus, very well connected.........could SGE do a job ?

He tends to win cups primarily. The Dutch and Portughese (sp) leagues are like SPL in terms of competition. At Lazio it took him 4 years and a shedload of money to get there....

As opposed to 4 years a shed load of cash then resigning??

If Felix Magath was there I would vote for him. None of the English names inspire any confidence so I went for Klinsmann. Jol would be good and it is probably fantasy to talk of Hiddink or Big Phil Scolari.

I think one of the legacies of MON's buy UK and Ireland policy will be that the new man will have to have pretty decent English!!

No on Bradley, not good enough tactically in the world cup imo.

Bradley did at least try and change things when faced with adversity, unlike a recent former Villa manager.  The USA's comeback against Slovenia was impressive, and was due largely to his team's change in personnel and formation against the very defensive opposition in the second half.

I don't imagine for a second that he has a chance of being Villa manager, but he's a good coach given the players he has to work with.

Southgate, Curbishley?????? the press / bookies really think we are a shitty little club don't they.....

My vote is Bilic, I like his passion for the game and think he would get us playing football by buying players with flair and technique.

Sven would be a disaster for the Club, his time has gone. Agree Moyes will not come to Villa, Jol is the man, A pity we missed out on Mark Hughes.

Sven would be a disaster, but Sparky would not ??

Sven is just the media being dicks. There's more chance of having mourinho as the villa boss

How much money do you think the bookies would make if they had only the nailed on favourite available for betting?
They'll throw as many names into the ring as they can.

Shame Hodgson went to Liverpool - he'd have been ideal.

Fortunately we only need to find one good manager that fits the bill, not five. On that basis I am reasonably confident Randy can make it happen.

It will be absolute torture hearing names like Bradley and Southgate in the meantime but we just have to keep the faith and hope for the best.
