my two choices would be
 Roberto Martinez or Ian Holloway

I like Martinez, but he may need a couple of years at Wigan before he steps into this shitstorm of a club.

he plays attractive passing football, i think he could do a great job at a bigger club, with better players.

I agree John, I'd just prefer him to have a couple of years dealing with the ins and outs of top flight management.

Randy will be in the UK tomorrow. Things should be clearer then.

Do you reckon he's popped back to pick up Bob Beamon or whatever his name is?

would be good if he made a statement, clear up the rumours and let us know an idea of a timescale for new manager.

Is that definite Dave? If so do you know if Randy will be making a statement or will he delegate that to the CEO?

Jol for me it the best fit, excellent manager who plays good football

Bob what his name, no thanks , no experience of our game etc.

He needs to try his a club in championship

I prefer Martinez is we cannot get Jol or prefer Macdonald has his respect of young talented players we have

It would certainly round off the episode, from the excitement of signing MON and the expected triumphs to come to unveiling a cheap American that no-one has heard of. My missus has just commented that I've been in a 'vile mood' since coming in, getting Bob?? wouldn't improve matters.

Voted Klinsmann as I think we need someone with a big worldwide profile.  Hiddink, Hitzfeld and Jol would all be good too.

We have the basis of a very good squad (as I've been saying all summer) we're just 2-3 players away from being right in with a challenge and I think a lot of managers will see that, Imagine the current squad (bar Milner) with Flamini, Ireland and Huntelaar (or similar) we'd be a very good side...

friedel

young
dunne
cuellar
warnock

flamini
petrov
Ireland

Gabby
Huntelaar
Young

and a strong bench with people like Downing, Collins, Carew, NRC and a mix of very promising kids.

Do you reckon he's popped back home to pick up Bob Beamon or whatever his name is over the last day or so?

We should jump at the chance to appoint Bob Beamon - 8)

All these names are making me feel even more depressed. I know O neil had some very strange ways. But when he came I was fearing relegation and then while he was here we were disappointed with finishing 6th and being conned out of a League cup final! I for one will miss O neil!
