I'll think we'll win.  Will be a lot of players wanting to prove themselves and I think we'll be very attacking.

It would be interesting to see the line up on Saturday. I wonder what team would Kevin pick :)

What system does he normally play? Least Albighton may start.

Still heavily dependent on defensive options for me. I think we'll all be watching Ashley's performance and probably reading far too much into it whatever happens.

Still going for a West Ham win. Everything has an air of doom about it with the villa at the moment. I can't think of the last bit of good news / positive signs that we had.

I'm away for this one. Strange thing is I didn't feel ready for the new season and wasn't too gutted. Maybe that says it all about how I felt about the way things were & MON. Now I am gutted and wish I could be there.

Villa win.

I suppose it depends on who is still here.

I hope MON heeds a lesson from the opening match of last season, and sticks with the players who have shown good form in pre-season (eg last summer NRC and Sidwell were in good form as a central midfield partnership but he dumped them for Delph and Petrov).

If only you had known.....

Bearing in mind injury concerns and assuming Ireland's in and Milner's out, I'd go with:

Friedel

L Young   Dunne   Clark   Warnock

         NRC  Petrov

Albrighton   Ireland   A Young

                  Carew

Subs: Guzan, Lichaj, Cuellar, Downing, Gabby, Delfouneso, Sidwell

Strange to see Chris Smith so downbeat.

Strange to see Chris Smith so downbeat.

Difficult to find any positives at the moment. Manager gone, players leaving, no money, little time to find a replacement, all night wasted on the Internet...

If the game is not going well on Saturday, you can bet on unpleasantness and possibly altercations with fisticuffs.
Depressing.

To be fair, there were a lot of draws predicted pre-MoNGone. And against West Ham, that would mean the game not going well.

So, if it's not going well with McAndrew in charge, you can put it down to him finding his feet rather than a manager who HAS his feet but just doesn't quite know what to do with them.
