I'm looking forward to being in the Holte more now than with MoN in charge. MacDonald will instill confidence, movement and proper footballing instinct into them.

Normally, I hate the whole pre-kick off huddle thing. But I think Dunney should get the team together on the pitch - the atmosphere will be electric and we could really get some momentum into the game, and the season.

Given that half of them are away on international duty he's going to have a busy Friday if he's got to do all that.

It would be difficult for him as some first team players might not be used to Kevin McDonald's style for reserve football. He can't change the system too much in one training section with all those internationals players.

I imagine a change of formation would be a decent short-cut to improving the style.

To be fair we have done that through pre-season so I'd imagine the players are already geared up for it.

Exactly, and Ireland's used to the 4-3-3 even if he doesn't know his potential new colleagues yet.

I'd back him to do it in a 10 minute team talk, so anything above that will be fine.

I reckon that we could just sneak a win in this one, but it will be close. I would play a 4-2-3-1 system, as i remember we got a bit overrun in the middle of the park last season against West Ham, even though they were in the process of parking a bus. With a new manager and the first game of the season I can see them being more adventurous as they will be out to impress, so we need to be careful.

------------Friedel-------------

Young.L---Dunne--Clark--Warnock

-----------NRC-----Petrov-----------

Downing------Ireland--------Young.A

-----------------Gabby-------------

Replace Clark with Cuellar/Collins if either of them are fit. If Ireland has not arrived/is not fit then put Albrighton on right and move Downing inside and if Gabby is not fit stick big JC up top.

There was talk of Dunne being injured, anyone got any updates on him, Collins or Carlos?

Reckon the boost in morale for the players should be enough to see us through. 2-0

MacDonald has to play something very different doesn't he? Otherwise it'll look like he's sticking the finger up to Randy and saying that he agrees with MON's selections.

Cheers, Maz. Looks a cracking line up. 4-2-3-1 being very flexible and very exciting. Hopefully the lads have had a few run-outs with the Kevin Mac to learn what this "pass" and "move" means. My guess is that many have forgotten!

I wouldnt have thought so at all. It wasnt team selection that Randy and MON disagreed on, it was the way forward financially.

Yes, the disagreement was about finances but finances based on non-used playing assets.
Randy wanted them gone if they weren't going to be used.

Given that it's MacDonald who has seen the benefit of MON's madness, I'd suggest that he'll have a far more level headed view of who really can and can't do a job. And I just can't imagine that he'll using players in the very same way as MON.

Strange as we all know. When a manager leaves most players move up a gear. So i think we will get a very adventures game on sat .............. Will we have players playing there actual positions and stuff like that ???????????????
