Not many people are actually searched in the sense of the word

Anyone carrying a bag of any description will be asked to open it and remove anything that contravenes stadium rules

In winter people in extra large clothing are asked to be frisked only because there is the capacity to conceal items from a bag in such large clothing.

If anything is taken off people (umberellas, cans of pop etc) they are held by the steward and a ticket issued so they can be collected after a game.

In all my years i have never had a complaint about being searched either on person or bag and if things have been taken off the public it is usually due to them not being regulars and knowing what can and cannot come into the ground.

The only people (and thats not many) i have ever seen refused entry has been due to them being pissed which i do not think anyone could argue with

That rule only seem to apply in England, everywhere else in the Europe you can get beers (or wine if you are Hugh Grant) and even watch the game (World Cup) with a drink in your hand.

I was drinking pints on the terraces at Rugby Town the other week.

Yeah but it's the summer, the ground was empty and you had the whole place to yourself.  O:)

Yep, that's the only thing that caught my eye about that poll. Please change it. Please.

The food is utter crap, I don't touch it now.

When I did fancy a beer last season, it was half a nano second past a quarter to three so they wouldn't serve me a bottle of gnats piss. So fuck 'em.

I went to the CSKA Moscow home match. Refused beer because it was 'an evening kick-off'.

LOLWHUT?!

Surely beer wasn't on sale then because it was a UEFA game?

The 'beer' that was sold on our travels to European away games (UEFA/Europa) was alcohol free.

What really does my head in , is the body search as you enter the Witton End, & when they find the 2 small bottles of water , purchased from a supermarket, to avoid paying @£1.80 /bottle in the ground,
they insist on me taking the tops off the plastic bottles,as I might use it as a missile.
however , I,ve now got over this by hiding spare tops ,about my person.

Do the stewards actually do a "body search" or just check your bag ?

I can't remember the last time I was searched at Villa Park.

They tend not to search season ticket holders.

Really, well ive been searched 99% of the games ive been too as far back as i can remember .

It's not because you wear a massive bomber jacket and walk around like you've just stolen a wallet, is it?

nope  .!

I just take a Mars Bar and some chewing gum.

I can usually last 90 minutes or so without having to stuff my face with over-priced grease.

I've taken a shoulder bag in on many occasions and have never once been asked to open it.

But I do have a very trusting face.

Food at Villa park is over priced and tasteless. Need a whole new plan and to start a new trend in healthy eating ...........

Load of cobblers. It's a football stadium not a restaurant. Burgers, chips, pies etc, what more do you want?
We go there for the football not the bloody food.

What's wrong with giving people want they want?

If we are not going there for food why are you looking at this thread ?? Not everyone wants burgers, chips and pies. Everyone should have choices, especially where health is concerned. Why do you think smoking is banned in grounds now ?? Wake up its 2010 .....

He is correct of course, we don't go to VP for the food, but it is part of the 'experience' and from what i#ve seen, the 'food experience' is ( as you infer) still very 1970's with added curry sauce !

Pretty much!

Actually there were 275 of us. Nice ground at Rugby, fairly new and far too big for the crowds they get but it was built before the old VS Rugby went all Halesowen and Bromsgrove on us! You can spot trains on the main line to London from the back of the main stand as well.
