Remember the days before the internet when you never speculated who
the club was interested in you only found out when the club mad the announcement. I really believe we were happier then. Can I hear violins.

Although I understan MON's point of view, he might try being a little more subtle.  Just saying......

Agreed but then part of the anger in his response could have been directed at the journalist for asking (in MON's eyes) such a stupid question and a complete lack of respect.

He thinks he's been unfairly criticised. He really is up his own arse isnt he?

hopefully another season or two and hes gone and we can move on the best we can after his spending.

Enjoy everyone whos paying for tickets this season, he couldnt care less what you think....

And we don't give a fuck what you think.

I do. I'm sure I'm not the only one either because stevenjos won't be the only fan thinking this way; far from it.

No, but he will be the only one refusing to celebrate anytime Heskey scores a goal for us.

Yup. I wont be celebrating. It means he will stay for longer than him going on a 30 game no scoring streak.

and if you dont give a **** what i think then stop reading a message board. Write a note saying "everything is great at villa, i love our attractive football and our brilliant transfer policy" then put it in an envelope. Lick the lid (dont cut your lip now ;0) and stick it down. Write your address on it and post it to yourself. Then you can read something with only your opinion on it! :0D

I would counter claim that it would have been better to have those three players in before the season started as three points against Wigan as opposed to zero could have been very important at the end of the season if the champion's league place came down to the wire.

I love coming on here to see what has offended people today.

The fact that a few lines taken out of context from a Daily Star journo can whip so many people into a frenzy is just laughable.
MON is paid to get players and get results, so far he has been successful on both counts.

Can't wait to see what we all get offended by tomorrow.

I don't see anyone whipped into a frenzy, just a fairly reasonable discussion (and it is a discussion board after all) from both sides about whether MON is justified in not caring what anyone thinks of his tendency to make very late signings, and whether he is right to say any critcism of it is unfair.  With hyperbole like that you too could be a Daily Star journo one day.

I for one dont really like the "could not care less" attitude we as supporters care about our club and we want to progress there is nothing wrong with that so why come out with stupid quote's like that.

This is our club martin, and we will be here long after you are gone-I find his comments typical of him, stubborn and arrogant

I don't really care if he cares or not, to be honest.

In fact, in a way, I'm glad he doesn't care, it is his decision to make, and he does things his way. The upshot of that is that if it works, he gets the credit, but if it doesn't work, he's the one looking like he fucked it up, nobody else.

Much ado about nothing.

I'm not going to give up on a message board just because of an attention seeking dimwit like you.

Fortunately there are plenty of other people who while I might not agree with them, I am interested in what they've got to say.

If the childish name calling / slagging off each other rather than each others ill thought-out, silly posts goes on (having been asked to stop once already), there will be a few early baths taken.

There is a reaction based on a wilfull misinterpretaion of what the manager said.

Hardly "a frenzy", though, surely?

Slightly dramatic.
