Now that MFH is off the books, we have the opportunity to bestow the honour to someone to wear the famous number 9 shirt this season...so who should get it?

None of the above.

Surely the new No 9 has yet to be signed?

Bloody well hope so, that list is so very frightening ( not to the opposition though).

Fernando Partridge would be more likely to sign for us

Keep it free.

I'd be happy with Gabby getting it but he turned it down before didn't he? when Marlon got it Gabby and Luke chose 11 and 8 IIRC.

Giving it Delfouneso would be a big sign of confidence in him from MON though...

9 should be Carew, Gabby 10. Unless we sign somebody else of course.
Honestly, I'd be happier with Bill Weimann as one of the four strikers than Heskey.

So if he gets the number 9 shirt I'm going to roll my eyes and tut. Maybe a period of prolonged muttering too.

That'd probably be the final straw with MON for me if Heskey gets the number 9. I know numbers aren't really significant anymore, but fuck that lumbering shite as our new number 9.

ABH, Anybody but Heskey!

Probably harsh but that's how I feel. I'd see Robbie Keane as more of a 10 than a 9. I'd give 9 to big John Carew or a new signing.
