Since when does anyone need a reason to kick us up the bollocks?  We'll roll over and let Arse (and 'The Mighty Reds YNWA') do it regardless.  Our points tally will be the same after 38 games as it is now...shame that the goal difference won't.  We are the footballing equivalent of some bloke with chronic cramp being dragged up the Mall at the end of the London Marathon.

Roll on the Summer!

I'm pretty sure TheManWithAStick was taking the piss.

That said, I can't be arsed with the anti-Man City vitriole. They're only doing what any other team with that much money would do... signing lots of players, and if it weakens their rivals in the process, all the better.

They're way less obnoxious than the other Noveau Riche from Stamford Bridge.

I still can't get over Martin Tyler saying in commentary that Man City were "going about it the right way." In regards to their quest to qualify for the Chumps League.

So spending a hell a lot more money than anyone else could dream to afford is the right way now?

What you have to bear in mind is that Martin Tyler talks a lot of shite. I stiill can't be arsed to hate Man City though.

Blues, Stoke, Spurs, Chelsea, Man U, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle... that's enough teams to hate already I haven't got the energy to hate Man City.

Give it a few years of them dominiating the league and I'm sure I'll start.

Remember how we said City would implode with all those egos at one club?

I never did. I've never been in the 'money can't but success' camp. Blackburn did it, Chelsea did it, Man City will do it and then somebody else will do it in a few years.

The only way money fails to buy success is if you have a series of calamities/massively useless managers.

They've had their problems off the field, but to be fair to Mancini, he's handled everything thrown his way pretty well, I would say.

Still doesn't make me think it's an amazing achivement.   They would be a laughing stock to not get something with that squad.

They almost did. Balotelli, Tevez threatening to go on strike, (He was responsible for almost 50% of their goals before getting injured), Ballotelli, Dzeko having a worse return of goals then Emile or Zigic, Balotelli and the players still moaning about Mancini's techniques in the papers. Oh and I almost forgot Ballotelli.

Mancini has got to be given some credit for the FA cup and CL qualification although considering they were 1st and spent another fortune in the Jan window, the fact it took them to within 3 matches from the end to confirm CL seems almost criminal anyway.

Here's to another £100mil in the summer minimum from them.

I must have been lucky or unlucky depending on how you view it. But every Chelsea and Arsenal fan I know or have met have almost all been pleasant and knowledgable fans. Whereas almost every Spurs and Man City fan I know or have met, are utter pricks.

So the promised land of the Champions League with it's untold riches, wonderful future and sense of arrival on the "big stage" has all but gone as far as Spurs are concerned.

Granted, they were part of some great games and provided some unforgettable memories for the fans but in the grand scheme of things, how much has changed for the club?

Not a lot I would wager which goes to prove that the hyperbole surrounding qualification is just that. An empty and soulless achievement. Give me a cup win anyday.

All the pundits can come up with is that "They will have learned from the experience".  By the time they get back into it (if they ever do) they will have forgot everything they've learned.  Spurs are right back where they started, they had a good tournament but felt sorry for themselves once they went out of it to the detriment of their league form.  They might not even make the other cup.
