Barcelona, even without going down like they're recreating Passchendaele, will run rings around Man United.
Carrick will think he's in a washing machine.

Not Messi till he wins the World Cup on his own as the other two have done.
One did it by cheating though and I dont mean Pele
At least England never had any dubious decisions in their favour when they won it...
Bit of a difference between a linesman's decision and a deliberate handball

What about deliberately kicking the shit out of Eusebio for 90 minutes in the semi?

Ramsey: "Nobby, you take Eusebio out of the game"
Stiles: "do you mean tonight, or permanently?"
Lovely.
In any case England never complained when Scholes punched the ball in against Poland.
Splendid examples then I could start on Ronaldo getting Rooney sent off and Simone feigning injury to get Beckham sent off

The bit I most enjoyed was seeing Real Madrid play like Aston Villa. We can match up with the best of them after all...

And what's wrong with that? If you win the game as a result of it, then fair enough. Football is about winning, nothing else. (It's a wonder I still follow the Villa then really...)

Both teams are a bunch of niggling, play acting tossers.

Great second goal though. Watch and weep, Ronaldo, watch and weep.

Strachan just said Messi is the best to ever play the game.

and Strachen also informed us that you can't buy coca cola at football grounds in Spain!

Madrid got what they deserve for their ultra negative display. Good to see football always wins in the end.
Agree 100% Mourinho can't win pretty against the best sides.

But he did against Spurs...( I am now going to hide)

Pele won it with a very talented team around him, he wasn't on his own although he did stand out in that team. Unfortunately for Messi, Argentina have a weatlh of talented individuals now but I reckon the next world cup he will really shine if they don't have a nutcase manager. Even the last world cup which the BBC just said he did nothing at, he had some tremendous runs and shots but the GK's seem to have blinders against him only or he was very unlucky.

Nothing's wrong with that if you like. In which case nothing's wrong with Maradona gaining an advantage by punching it in. Anyway I'll stop now I didn't set out to annoy England fans I just think it's silly to say Maradona can't be the best player ever because he cheated, when just about everybody ever cheats. I've seen Pele getting in fights, and diving round the pitch for example.

....or be on a class A drug.

Yep, a performance-impeding class A drug.

Until Messi signs for Valladolid and wins the title (twice) and a Eurpean trophy, coupled with the World Cup when the rest of the team are as good as, say, England, he'll be up there but not the very best.

He almost scored 3-4 like the one tonight at the world cup but as said above, the keepers were inspired. I did not see a lot of the cheating one, but what I did see doesn't ever make me think he was better than Messi. Football is faster now, defenders are also faster footed than they once were, but watch the speed Messi takes the second at, full sprint, without ever looking as if he was going to let them touch it, or lose control. Stunning.

United need to have a plan, although I fear whatever that plan may be, they will get twatted at Wembley. 11 in 11 champions league and 52 for the season is pretty amazing.

Agree and you know what I mean with "on his own" about players who have dominated the tournaments like the two mentioned and Zidane.

Pele never dominated the competition. They won it without him in 1962, when he was injured. Garrincha was more crucial than him at the time.

Messi is and will go down as one of the best in the history of the game. He is consistently(which I think is the most important thing) sensational.
