The yids?

can't you comment without being antisemitic?

Do you really think he was being antisemetic? Or are you posting that for effect?

No - not for effect, it's what I thought when I read the original post.

Having read other posts since, it seems I missed a meeting.  Apologies, Greg.

I spent a number of games behind the goal with the home fans and with my partner at the time (1980's) and didn't hear anything, but things could well have moved on in a post-ironic spirit, since then!

Just finished watching Porto destroy Spartak! They really are a great team to watch. Spent the whole game saying, "He'd be great for the Villa he'd be great for the Villa...."
And to think that the window we signed Heskey on a 3 and half year deal for £3.25m, Falcao's agent was linking him with us in a bid to get a move to Europe, which he finally did for just £4.5m!

Benfica v PSV was a cracking game. The Europa League/UEFA Cup could still be a cracking competition if they sorted it out.

If they are going to continue with the shit format/qualification rules that they have at the moment I'd like to see UEFA offer the winners of the Europa League entry into the Champions League, I think a lot of clubs would take the the competition more seriously (although a lot of European Clubs already seem to do that).

Half or more of the 8 quarter finalist are "dropouts" from the Chumps League.

The return of Cup Winners Cup would be nice.  Fucking hell, even Mechelen have won it.

Gerrards season is over, may make last game a tad easier

Why? It's no more difficult a game than Stoke or Newcastle at home.

Spurs have admitted they will have to "streamline" if they fail to make the Champions League this season, probably including selling Bale and/or other players. On this basis I fail to see why anyone would want them to qualify ahead of Man City.

I agree but find it difficult to understand their statement. Are they basically saying they over spent on the assumption they'd qualify every year having only qualified once? Sheer stupidity.
