I think I have slightly more respect for Man U fans than Chelsea ones. At least some of them have stuck with Man U through thick and slightly less thick. That match when they weren't winning at half-time once saw a good percentage of their fans jump ship.

The Champions League is a cracking competition. The group stages are a bit stale, but the knockouts get better and better every year. I long for the day we get there.

Grubby little competition that lost all its kudos when they started allowing teams in it that had not won their own leagues to qualify. Every team we beat in 1982 were national champions. Having said that, when we are in it one day I may give it a bit more attention.

So you'd find it distasteful if we finished 4th and reached the QF? Or is 30 years ok?

No, it was the twat that tattooed the Masterchef logo onto his shoulder who went. The veggie will be off next, she nearly killed the judges with chilli overkill, which to be honest is the only way I could eat most veggie food.

I'd be ok about it superficially of course, but deep down I'd be trying to suppress the fact that it doesn't seem right....

Yes exactly, Man Utd were still getting 40+ thousand when Chelsea were struggling to get 20 thousand

And United's crowds would have been bigger still were it not for the capacity of Old Trafford at the time...

Lesser of two evils but I marginally favour Chelsea. Our record against them is much better probably has something to do with it. They don't quite get the same level of favourable treatment from refs either.

It's not . Just look at QF first leg results 5-1, 4-0, 2-5 and 0-1.  Hardly competitive. It's a. endless self defeating pursuit of riches and clubs in it dare not miss out as  missing out leads to ruination as Spurs are going to find out next season.

I agree. The line up was hardly a stellar one either. Quality is very poor this year, Barcelona excepted...
