MotD now and just saw Rooney thump a Wigan player in the face in an off  ball incident. Clattenberg had a word  with him but I hope that will not save him from further action?

Rooney is a brilliant football player who also happens to be a stupid dick.

Other razor-sharp observations from my viewing of MOTD: the pitch at Molineux is terrible. And Wigan's ground seemed half-empty, which is amazing given who they were playing.

I'm just watching the Football League review, Guzan let in a right soft one at his near post, Harewood had a great chance that he put out for a throw in and Luke Moore seemed to do very well for Swansea and scored a nice goal.

What a day! Villa win and score four, Clyde win and score four (the first time Villa and Clyde have both won this season) and my favourite Italian team, Bologna, win two nil away to Juventus! Happy days are here again!

Yea, what was that awful 'music' that was being played after the Wolves goals? Sounded something out of Oliver.
