Perhaps a draw at Blackpool wasn't that bad a result after all.

Cracking night for Scunthorpe then. Sheffield United and Preston are looking doomed.

Guess we'll see how important Adam is to Blackpool now- from BBC Live Text -

"Many of the Spurs fans who were at Bloomfield Road have already left to start the long journey down south. They miss a rash tackle by Charlie Adam on Michael Dawson the edge of the Tottenham area after the Scot's control let him down. Adam is shown a yellow card and he will now miss Blackpool's games against Wolves and Chelsea. No need for that at this stage"

It wasn't a bad result, no.

The problem we have is that we could really do with winning a decent run of games soon, and although we're looking slightly harder to beat (although still conceding too many goals), we don't look like we're about to go on a winning run any time soon.

It was aimed at the argument aired yesterday that we are currently "truly awful" when we clearly aren't. Neither are we truly brilliant, we're truly inconsistent with very good and very shit bits on display in most matches. No need for the italics, we are harder to beat -1 defeat in 8 demonstrates that - but draws aren't enough and we need to step up another level and do it starting on Saturday.

I agree re Saturday, it's getting more and more important we do that.

By "slightly" harder to beat, I'm looking at things like our ongoing inability to keep a clean sheet (1 clean sheet since the end of October) - 6 goals conceded in the last 3 league games.

We're not much less fragile at the back than we were before, we've just got away with it a little more of late. Witness the two soft goals at home to Fulham - a match we should really have won.

We had a tough run of fixtures in the period before and after Christmas, and I thought a lot of posters were very harsh on us when, really, you didn't have to be Nostradamus to see most of those results coming. The flip side of that, however, is now that we've got this run of "easier" fixtures, we have got to start taking maximum points.

Like you said, that needs to start on Saturday.
