Doug Ellis:   'Well it's quite clear, i've always been an admirer of Wayne Rooney, and i've known him from a young age, you could say he was like a son to me. I taught him everything he knows, I did invent the bicycle kick don't you know?'

1 - 0 Bolton.........Cahill

Remind me why we let him go ?

Because MON replaced him with Knight and Davies and than Cuellar, Dunne and Collins all for a combined cost of 33 million pounds! What more do we want?

He wanted to leave because MON told him with Knight, Davies, Cuellar and Laursen around he  had no  future at VP!

Remind me why we let him go ?

Because he shagged Randy's Springer Spaniel and posted the video on You Tube. The player himself came out with some guff about realising he wasn't guaranteed first team football at Villa so he wanted to move to somewhere that he was but that was just a smoke screen.

At that stage he wasn't as good as any of them. He has developed since but, understandably, wasn't willing to wait around on the subs bench till he was ready to replace one of said players.

We might have loaned him maybe, but perhaps Cahill fancied the stability of a long-term move. I don't particularly like O'Neill but this constant banging on on this site about how we should have kept Cahill is somewhat tedious.

Cahill wasn't willing to wait for his chance and wanted to leave.

Good finish by Sturridge. He'd be worth a shout in the summer.

I wish we signed Sturridge a few years back, I'm sure I remember us sniffing around. Bloody waisted at Chelsea, cracking player.

Your use of the word "somewhat" maybe the understatement of the year sir. It's like fucking Groundhog Day on here any time Cahill does anything remotely decent. You'd think we sold Maldini or Baresi at a young age the way some people go on about him.
