It pains me, but Van Der Vaart is a great player.

Only £3m more than Sidwell....

*whistle*

Same price as Stevie Ireland

But I thought everyone hated managers who do deals last minute and you couldn't get as last minute as that one.
Only ones who do last minute deals with players based within the UK.

The Milner deal was organised/sanctioned by Randy and Paul Faulkner, MON had left the club at least a week before the
deal went through

Well, that was bizarre.  How can Clattenburg overrule the linesman when he wasn't even looking at the game?  Oh sorry, it's at Old Trafford isn't it.

The ref overruled the linesman for a spurs winner the other week. I'm only going on the Beeb description but if Gomez (and the linesman) thought a free kick had been given and dropped the ball down and Nani scored, then there is nothing for the Linesman to flag. Clattenberg would have told him and overruled his flag.

What was the linesman flagging for?  Was Nani offside in the original play (with the penalty claim)?
Otherwise I cannot see how/or what spurs are complaining about.

(it doesn't help that I am listening with foreign commentary)

Nani did handle but as Gomez had the ball the ref played the advantage. It was a stupid mistake by the keeper to assume that it was a free kick - what's the Portuguese for "play to the whistle"? I'm guessing that the linesman was flaggging as he also thought it was a dead ball.

Nani dived and handled the ball, Gomes picked it up all the players moved off and then Gomes then threw the ball about 2/3 yards in front of him to take the free-kick which he thought and the linesman had been given but then Nani nipped in and slotted it past him. Im sure Clattenburg will say he never signalled/whistled for a free-kick but why did the linesman signal ??

Looks like a cock-up by Gomes to me (oh how we've missed them).

Whether it was in the spirit of the game is questionable, but I can't really see what spurs are complaining about.

Play to the Whistle, although the ref should have 1. Given Man Utd a Penalty Kick 2. Either Booked Nani for diving or gave a free kick for the handball because he didn't give a Penalty Kick 3. Just Fuck off because he's a smarmy twat.

Spurs are complaining because despite nani handling in the area the referee ignored his linesman and decided that did not constitute a foul. This big 4 ref bias is now out of hand.

Clattenberg saw nani handle the ball however ignored it in order to play advantage to Spurs. Gomez played a  strange advantage by putting the ball down, there was no whistle  so why would he think it was a freekick, however when Nani intervened it was no longer advantage and Ref should have intervened to take the play back to original handball incident and awarded Spurs a freekick. All 3 involved were wrong.
Gomez for not playing to the whistle and making poor use of "advantage"
Nani for very poor sportmanship to kick it into the nest  having  clearly handled the ball earlier.
Clattenberg for not intervening once advantage was lost to take play back.
