Marc needs to get physically stronger if he's to push on this year, he's struggling physically at this level, let alone PL.

Equaliser from the Cezchs, very hard to get excited about this crop of England players. Sturridge, Walker, Jones & Smalling look comfortable, its difficult to see a bright future for any others.

Agree but Pearce set the team up for the tournament in the most negative way, they had a very decent defence, so stick 2 holding players in front of that and hope that you can nick a goal

At least the FA are promoting consistancy through the age groups, these were a carbon copy of the first team promising so much before being shown up for being technically inferior on the big stage.

From what I have seen they look the equal of the others in their own two thirds but when pressed in the last third they cant retain the ball in the manner of the other teams.

Smalling looks real class, none of the rest for me. Thought Walker was very poor tonight, got caught out of position on a number of occasions and kept overhitting the ball. Mind you, no one can hold a candle to Jordan Henderson who makes Reo Coker look like Messi. £16million? Oh how we laughed...

I agree, some of the real basics about forward play was lacking, standing offside, turning into players with thier back to goal, no movement. the set up was totaly wrong, it would take a page to explain all the rubish in terms of tactics and strategy, Pearce is a dinosaur

I was looking at t'internet so I cant claim to have watched closely but from what I saw the biggest problem was Henderson, he was the man who the team were to play through yet he wasn't up to it, his movement was poor, his touch wasn't great and he panicked and gave the ball away when pressed. King Kenny will be nervously blaming it on fatigue and he's probably right, has he played more PL games than anyone else in that team this season?

I honestly think someone at Liverpool has gone fucking mental.

First 35m on Carroll, a young striker with a penchant for getting pissed and into bother, who has had one half of a good Premier League season, and has now been taken away from his comfort zone, then the best part of 20m for Jordan Henderson, who has had one half of an average Premier League season.

I know they trust him implicitly up there, but if I were a Liverpool fan, I'd be a bit worried by signings like that.
