All that stuff about 'making the step up' and 'mixing it with the big boys' and 'not looking out of place' is a bit meaningless if they come fifth.

Coverage of the affairs of Tottenham Hotspur has little to do with reality. It's strange.

They lost? Well that's shame. I was hoping they would get another spanking.

It's raining heavily here.  I guess the gods are weeping for them.

I really found it difficult listening.  As Damon pointed out there was no sense of reality in anything that was said, everything was positive.  It was like listening to reports about England back in the 80's before they'd kicked a ball before a tournament started.

Was there a mention of Spurs playing in the UEFA cup next season?  I didn't here one.

Can't believe the FA are dragging 2 teams down from Manchester to Wembley for the Semi at 17:15 on a sat afternoon
Joke

What a pleasant journey down the M1 for Villa fans on Saturday. If you're going, best start out now.

Surprised that Childs and Co did not play out with this:

I half expected to hear the funereal bells that signalled the start of our second half last weekend

A friend thinks all this bollocks "it's not over yet" commentary is strings being pulled by the online betting sponsors.

My future brother-in-law sets odds online during games, and the company he works for loves English gamblers as we tend to vote with our allegiances and hatreds rather than logic.

I did smile thinking about all the people who might have been sucked in by Ray Winston during the half time adds....Spurs to win 4 - 0 at 150/1

I bet they made a killing and laughed themselves silly as the money rolled in.

Charlton was a right pain in the arse. Palace would probably be okay now I've been there before. First time goind to West Ham, but I'm going on the coach due to work being done on the tube.

I've just heard that Spurs have been granted an automatic place in this year's Europa Cup semi finals in recognition of their long and historic contribution to european football over the last two or three months

A draw is taking place tomorrow to see which of the four teams they will replace - Gary Mabbutt is drawing the balls
