Before the war Coventry was one of the most picturesque unspoilt Tudor cities in the country, on a par with York and Chester. There were something like 400 timber-framed medieval buildings in the city, whereas now there are 50 - and after the war there were 300. The council did far more damage to Coventry's architecture than the Luftwaffe ever did. Here endeth the history lesson.
They hate us, we don't care about them and buy any of their players we deem good enough. Sounds a bit like us and Manchester United. From what I can remember of going there, it's also a bit rich of us to complain about their hooligans causing problems.
