Find it strange some of the people slagging off redknapp- maybe they should look closer to home at the current incumbent of the villa managers seat?

So we can't have an opinion of any other manager?

Nobody said that peter, but I just find it strange redknapp being slagged off having won the fa cup at little Pompey , taken them to Europe and reached the champions league at spurs just 18 months after they were bottom of the league-I wish our manager could achieve those things.

If chairmen pay what they can't afford then they are to blame for finance, the manager will ask for the best he can hope for , it's down to them to say no.

In the same way people can criticise him, people can also defend him .

Because O'neill has made it his business to talk about other teams transfers for most of his career?

The only team Mon has left in a bad place is Celtic but it's really incredibly unfair to slag him off over that as it's common knowledge that he left because his wife was seriously ill.

Wycombe he took from a non-league club to a team established in the football leagues, Leicester he gave the most successful period in their history (probably) and Norwich he didn't do well but he didn't leave them in any kind of major trouble.

The other thing to note is that no one is slagging Redknapp achievements, it's how he's got them that's being questioned.

I'm not saying o neill is a bad manager but he is also nowhere near as good a manager as some would have you believe, he's done an ok job at villa so far , with an awful lot of money at his disposal , no more no less in my opinion.

Redknapp has acheived more in his 18 months at spurs than mon has in 4 years at villa though, and his teams play much more attractive football too.

Am I the only Villa fan to not totally dislike Arry ?

I like him, at least he knows what he is talking about, has genuine enthusiasm for the game, and makes some interesting observations as a TV talking head. Much like MON, in that respect.

As for allegedly taking bungs, I couldn't give a rat's ass, and that so called documentary exposure on BBC was a joke.

He has left club after club in the shit and fucked off and let sombody else pick up the pieces.

Utter nonsense.

I agree with Risso.

The myth is just that, one of leaving every club he's managed on some sort of moonlight flit with a swagbag over his back.
I will say it again.Every club he has been at end's up in administration,Fuck me Arry must be unlucky.

When were West Ham in administration?

Redknapp left Bournemouth in 1992.  Bournemouth went into adminstration in 2008, 16 years later.  Are you really trying to tell me that was Redknapp's fault?

I think blaming a Manager for going into Administration is incorrect anyway.

Look at Leeds, Mr Ridsdale rightly got all the stick.

If Redknapp was signing the cheques I think bigbad82 may have a point, but as he never has had that authority and purely looked after the football side of things, blaming him for any club he managed going into Adminsitration is just wrong.

I think he just hates Redknapp.

The 2008 Administration was Bournemouths 2nd time. They definitely went into Administration in the early to mid 90's because I remember visiting them on behalf of a major creditor I was working for at the time. Think it was '95. So still a moot point as to whether you could blame Redknapp.

I agree with you for the most part but I'd wager that arrogant pricks like Redknob and O'Dreary would be in the ear of their chairmen telling them wondeful stories about how they'll coach the player so well and have them playing so well that they'll only increase in value, thereby ensuring the clubs future. On top of that, Harry will be getting the ok to buy a player then likely doing all kinds of dodgy deals via the agent.

I don't believe for a second that it's a coincidence that a trail of financial destruction follows closely behind Redknap.

Part of the reason he was shown the door at West Ham was his use of the Ferdinand money.

£18 million (which is a lot now, nevermind then) and the majority of it all spunked on dross. Most of whom had the same agent.

He's a media whore / rent-a-quote but I think he is a cracking manager.  All his teams play attractive football and are usually quite successful.

Something of a mis-conception when you take into account Spurs played more long balls than any other PL side last season.
