I agree with Risso.

The myth is just that, one of leaving every club he's managed on some sort of moonlight flit with a swagbag over his back.

Well if he's artound Sendo can tell us about West Ham but that's exactly what he did at Southampton and Portsmouth.

I'm lost here? He was asked a question and answered it.

I wish our manager let the fans know what's going on more often!

Harry gave west ham stability when he was there and is their best manager since greenwood, as for Pompey he gave them their most success in 60 yrs , fa cup win , european football and top 7 finish and it was that clown Adams in charge who saw them go something like 20 games without a win .

As for the money, he's the manager so will want the best players he can get, if they can't afford it blame the chairmen who paid it!

Lock em all up ( put Cloughie in a pauper's grave)  throw away the key, rename Brian Clough Way - Bung's Avenue.

Anyone else while we're putting the world to right ?

In fairness Redknapp seems to have worked at perfecting his driving teams into administration routine over the years.

Bournemouth - got them relegated having sold most of their younger players and left them with no reserves or youth to speak of and an old first team.  Subsequent managers then completed the job by trying to buy a new squad from scratch each time rather than rebuilding the club from the ground up.

West Ham - signed a fair number of foreign mercenaries on wages that were far too high for their ability and left the club struggling for money and having to sell people like lampard, johnson and cole to keep afloat.  The lasting effect being that the present owner had to take whatever he could and sold the club to the icelandic guys in a desperate bid to keep the club going.

Southampton - he arrived, signed a few players who were on too much money and then deserted them when they were clearly screwed to go back to...

Portsmouth - no comment needed.

The important thing to remember though is that the chairmen at those clubs during his time were all pretty shit at their job and didn't reign him in, so he just kept on spending the money.  I can't see that happening at spurs as, regardless of the fact that he's a complete knob, Levy is actually very good at running the business side of the club.

They also have the advantage of having a much bigger fan base than their history or quality justifies, which makes it fairly easy for Tottenham to sort themselves out if they do let him have a mad summer and buy everyone under the sun.  You just have to look at the reported turnover figures to back this up.

Find it strange some of the people slagging off redknapp- maybe they should look closer to home at the current incumbent of the villa managers seat?
