I don't think they'll play their 20 million pound full back on the wing. He's also currently the England full back and he'll want to play in his natural position. Especially now as everyone is under the microscope.

True. I don't really think they have bid for Luke but with Johnson's attacking ability it would be a reasonable idea if they did.

Unless of course Johnson's off to Inter as linked a while back and Luke is merely the bargain replacement.

I'll never understand MON's treatment of Luke Young. One of the best right backs I've seen at villa.

Not sure how old you are Irish so do forgive me, but he would be way down my list. He wouldn't even make the top 5. But then I'm no great fan of Luke Young, think he is hugely over-rated. Realise I am in a minority of one in thinking that mind you!

Luke is solid. Ive seen several better right backs at Villa though.
I reckon Mr Lichaj could be one of them.

Yep, agree. He's a serviceable full back. I still think he should have been given more playing time, especially when you consider his fee. But he doesn't come close to some of the full backs we've had over the years.

There was an article in today's Mail about Lichaj, saying that Luke Young has been mentoring him. Pulling him up in training if he is doing something wrong and telling him what he needs to look at in his game. He sounds like a great pro and I think that wherever he goes the fans will take to him quickly.
