At least we play the Blues twice and before we have our March onwards collapse, that means we might beat them again.  Unfortunately by April when Albion are up, we will be fecked.

How many of those games will actually be played at that time?

Hopefully none. All kickoffs at 1pm on a Sunday would be my preference

Did we have a March onwards collapse last season?

Is the FA Cup final really going to be in the middle of a full Premier league fixture programme, talk about downplaying the whole competition.

As for man City entering the Europa league at the same stage as us, that's not right is it? i though as the 5th place team they entered straight into the league stage

Man City enter at the same stage as us. Only the holders, Atletico Madrid, enter at the group stage.

It's because Real Madrid v Inter takes place at Wembley on 28th May, so they need as much time as possible to prepare the pitch.

Good to see a league game on New Year's Day again - probably cos it's a Saturday. I don't know why they stopped the tradition (our 2-1 win thanks to Mellberg and Laursen headers two and a half years ago was the last time we played on the first of the first). We usually play Blose away first followed by the return at VP in April so that's completely changed.

For years we never played at home on the opening day. The last couple of seasons now we'll have started and finished at home. Also, should we get into the Europa group stage, most of the games on the Thursday fall before subsequent away league games on the following weekend. Meaning there shouldn't be too many dicking about with Villa Park 3 o'clock Saturday games. Having said that, if we get to the knockout stages in the new year a lot of home league games will come after Wafer Cup matches.

Why are Blues visiting in October?!

It's a long held tradition that we beat them at home in April, thus making the last weeks of the season particularly unpleasant for them.

And think of this year, with people saying 'all we have left is to beat the scum'. We'll have to think of something else for next year...

Probably as recently it's been on a thursday or friday so not enough space before FA cup 3rd round weekend.

They should play all the league games on FA cup final weekend on the sunday or kick them off on the saturday at 12pm as 3pm should be sacrosant for the cup final.
