With 11 vs 11, it was heading for 0-0.And for that reason, Dion, you are a fool. Are you sure? I always thought we were losing by the time Dion was sent off, and that it had little bearing on the game.I could be wrong though as I've tried to erase that night from my memory.

Dion took us down to their level - losing to them is never pretty but we could at least have done it with a bit of dignity.
Agreed, but that wasn't my point. My point was that I don't think it was heading for a 0-0 when it happened, therefore it didn't change the outcome of the game.

The abject surrender of a 2-0 lead to Hull to lose 2-3 in the last few minutes on a grey grey afternoon in November 1967 made me realise we really were shit and getting back to the 1st Division wasn't going to be happening any time soon. With all that's happened since, that remains my most shocking moment, probably because up to that point I'd had a cheerfully youthful (and utterly unrealistic) belief in Aston Villa to overcome such trivial obstacles such as being trashed 2-6 by Chelsea (on Match Of The Day too!) and gaining a masterly 2 points from our last nine games the season before to join Blackpool in going down.I've tried to temper every disappointment since then by remembering how it felt to stand there and watch a terrible team lose so gutlessly. It's largely worked.
