Good man. I thought that Staunton scored first though and Hughes equalised. [/quote]

It was a long time ago so could have been.

I thought that Staunton scored first and Cantona equalised! Anyone else got any other variations?

.

In terms of trouble, I think the night we lost there 2-1 in 1976-77 dwarfs anything since.

Yes, I remember that one well. Housebricks flying around after the game, running battles all the way back to town

As I wrote in an old H&V, it was that bad we were still fighting at school the next day.

Missed the '87 game. Was waiting at the bus stop by the Prince Hal about ten to three when a bird I knew called me from her flat in the adjacent tower block, and I knew she would make me an offer I couldn't refuse. No, it was drugs you dirty devils.

Wished I'd gone when I heard the score.

Definitely Staunton first with Hughes scumming an equaliser. From memory I can't remember Cantona ever scoring against us. Big game bottler.

In my youth it was not unusual to go to either the  Hawthorns or St Andrews if the Villa weren't playing. I have been to a few midweek games in Small Heath, including a cup win over Sheffield Wednesday in front of a 50,000 crowd the day before we beat Southampton. I saw quite a few Villa fans there.

I've also had the dubious privilege of watching Small Heath play the Baggies in an FA Cup semi final at Villa Park.

Correct. Stan first then Hughes equalised. Also I'm sure Cantona scored twice against us at Old Trafford in 93/94 when we lost 3-1 and Neil Cox scored for us.

Didn't Neil Cox stick his fingers up at them when he scored?

I've never been to one there, though I've been to probably dozens at the Hawthorns, including one of the best games I've ever seen, Swindon 3 Burnley 2 in a league cup semi-final replay circa 1969.

Went with an ex girlfriend once, she is wolves. Fair bit of bother outside.
I then took us both to the Liam Ridgewell and Gabby game. I am sure to this day that she physically pissed herself with fright.

Twice, our headmaster at school got all of our year tickets for Blues vs Norwich which they won 2-0. This would have been 1999/00.

2nd time was 2007/8 when they lost 1-0 to Man. United, Ronaldo scored.
