Pitch got the all-clear from the inspectors apparently.

Evidently there were exceptional swing bowling conditions yesterday and, according to reports, some shocking batting.

185 - 4

We need another 256 with 6 wickets in hand. Could be all over today but if we're 4 down at the close we could be in for an interesting 4th day.

Pity we're six down!

If only we'd somehow scrapped together another 100 first innings, as it is I reckon it'll be all over come lunchtime tomorrow.

Very tight at Edgbaston:-

Lancashire 354 & 199

Warwickshire 113 & 351/7 (106.0 ov)

Warwickshire require another 90 runs with 3 wickets remaining

All but fucked now. Unless uptown top Rankin can pull something out of the fire with Trott.

Oh well, at least Miller has been something of a revelation.

Rankin is a genuine bunny so it will take a miracle from here.

A very brave effort to even get close but we can look to our first innings capitulation and then letting Lancs off the hook in their second innings as the key moments.

That's that then.  375 all out.

Trott last out for 150.  At least he's put himself back in the frame for the Test next week.

Agreed.

We can take a lot from the recovery from 30-3 to 346-7. You can't ask for much more from your lower middle order.

As already quoted on here another 50 more runs in our 1st innings or 50 fewer runs in Lancs 2nd innings would have made all the difference.

So would Trott, Carter or Miller have been our Man of the Match?

Miller took 8 wickets over the 2 innings (I think). Carter was the only player to score well in both innings and took 2 wickets. Trott got 150 in the 2nd innings.

Bears getting spanked all over the place by Hants.

Hants 173/2 off 21 overs.  Carberry out for 103 off 70 deliveries.

It certainly was.  Wheels came off good and proper.

Still, we've been on a very good run lately so I guess a defeat was due some time.  But that's back-to-back defeats now so we need a victory quickly.  Not sure what the next fixture is.
