Spurs want 'special dispensation' to sign VDV, they'll probably get it, we all know the rules don't apply to Spurs.

Aren't they the same rules that allowed us to sign Richard Dunne on September 2nd last year?

Well they now have him and have also registered him in the 25 even though that cut off was at 1700 today. Apparently a "technical problem" was the reason it wasn't done by the deadline.

And as I have mentioned before. With Dunne, we has been in talks for days and eveything was ready apart from Citeh defaulting on his payment which delayed the signing very late on. According to Redknapp the first he knew was at 1600 so their delay was more actually performing a medical and agreeing personal terms, ie the main things to do before the transfer deadline. Although Arrys version is already in dispute as RM are denying any contact with Bayern.

Either way - neither of us got the relevant paperwork sorted before 6pm on the final day. I'm sure Spurs would have their reasons as well. The upshot is that if an exception can be made for our deal, there's no reason it can't be made for their deal.

I'm another who's not concerned about Hleb, he really isnt what we need although he is a cut above small heaths usual shit. Let's be honest, they needed a bloody good transfer window or they would have struggled with last years squad minus an inspired Joe Hart who seemed to pull off miraculous saves on a weekly basis.

There'll be a reason why Hleb has joined a non entity like the Blues and I suspect all will become apparent when we see him play. Not in his first game or two but later in the season when he has been there for a while.

I see Eider had interest from clubs all around the world.......but chose to go to Stoke. Erm.....

When players come out and say they had interest from other clubs, it probably means they did'nt. I mean, take Hleb, who in their right mind would leave Barca, and turn down Spurs, Liverpool and Benfica and join Blues.

One player I was sorry we missed out on yesterday was Sigurdsson of Reading. Seen a bit of him. a real decent prospect IMO.

That’s a good shout, he had a good couple of seasons for Reading scoring plenty of goals he can also take a good penalty which would have been some use to us!

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, but if/when we appoint a new manager before January....will we be able to make loan signings in the interim?

I think the only thing we can do between now and Jan is scour the free agent market... which is probably why we left three spaces clear in the squad. Let's hope the new manager's got a bulging contacts book and can track down an unemployed defensive central midfield player and a left-back who's happy to play the odd cup game and cover for Warnock.

I expect emergency loans (no keepers fit type thing) are allowed but non 25 man squads players can only go to lower divisions or abroad.
