I get the idea but no player, certainly none of ours, contributes every game! Not in a good way at least!

Simple.  Right now, no-one. 
Until we have a manger it would be ludicrous to sign a player like Keane who may not be part of the future manager's plans and therefore inhibit his ability to buy players he wants due to the funds being spent and the additional wage burden.
