With a top holding player behind Ireland in a 4-4-2.  If we don't also get one of them, I'd give NRC a run and see if it works.

I really wish the General would answer the question I asked whether transfers can happen without a full-time boss. If not we're all just pissing in the wind. And as we all know, not much happens in January at the top-end of the market. This season is in danger of being very transitional.

We could still play the loan market.

Whatever way we do it, we could do with a CM and CF on board by Sept 1st.

RSC has been linked with a short-term move to Lazio today. Maybe Citeh wouldn't be prepared to loan to a side they perceive to be a potential rival (though they did let Jo go to Everton a few years back) and I can't make too many convincing arguments why anyone should prefer the charms of Brum over Rome. But don't ask, don't get.

Season long deals would be the way to go with the current manager situation. Each club can have two, and if we get a new bloke in later in the campaign or next summer and he has his own ideas it's no great loss.

If we can't buy a striker, why can't we get one on loan for season. There must be someone we can get on loan from big club.

I did a quick search on Andy Carroll he is 6ft 5 and from Gateshead and is home grown from Newcastle. Just to see where he come from.
