I don't pay that much attention to other clubs, but apart from Man Citeh, it doesn't seem like there are that many transfers so far to me. That's my one consolation at the moment. Deluded as I am.

Pretty much nobody seems to have much money to spend this summer.

The vast majority of managers, I can't help observing, seem to be content to make do and mend and get on with it.

Just out of interest, how many of them have sold their best player for £26m and still not spent?

I think somebody should start a 'Loans' thread.

I think loans may well be the way to go for us right now, but will Randy sanction that before we shift a few more from the wagebill?

The usual ITK's are saying Spurs will get Lass Diarra and Luis Fabiano if they get through on Wednesday.

I would love to see Fabiano down the Villa. no chance of that happening of course.

Just shows how much both sides fortunes have changed over the past 2 years.

I think we'll be regretting the back end of 2008/09 for years and years to come.

Back (still?) in for Keane according to the Independent. Do it.

Indeed, Keane may have played his last game for the club following fresh reports Aston Villa and West Ham are preparing bids for the Republic of Ireland striker.

Press Association Sport understands Spurs could be tempted by an offer in the region of £10million for the 30-year-old.

I think MON wanted him, but he's a very specific type of striker so I'd question whether or not he would fit into any new manager's plans.

I don't think we'll be signing anyone else until we get a new manager in, whether it be Klass-Jan Huntelaar, Mathieu Flamini or Jay frigging Bothroyd.
I think somebody should start a 'Loans' thread.

Ye good idea. Start wiyh NRC. He is no where near good enough if we want to progress. He simply has not got it. Besdes his lack of passing ability. He gives away loads of free kicks cause of his bad timing and his control is limited. I cannot believe the people who still continue to praise him. He has had runs for Villa and never commanded his position. Get rid .....................

It’s more a case of making do with what we have; we need his type of player if we are going to continue with the one up front formation but without a manager to sanction a deal for an adequate replacement we will have to settle for NRC. I don’t think anyone thinks he is our saviour but in our present situation he is the best we have.

Tempted? They're having a laugh. With MON out of the equation, I can't see them getting any more than £6m for him and that would be on a two year contract with an option on a third.

I'd rather we got somebody in on loan rather that give Spurs any money.

Well our number 9 shirt is still waiting to be filled and I think it will. Keane isn't a number 9 so I still expect a good player to come in. Not that I don't see Keane as being any good, mind.

I thought Ireland was wearing #9 on Sunday, or was it a mightmare?

Why wasn't Ireland wearing Number 8?

To stop the direct comparisons with Milner.
