christ, thinking about it, I just can't see us getting the type of midfielder we're desperate for this side of September, NRC it is then. Or Hogg. Toulalan definitely the best bet, or Flamini. Just can't see it. Maybe Michael Bradley, whether or not his dad comes?

I don't think we'll be signing anyone else until we get a new manager in, whether it be Klass-Jan Huntelaar, Mathieu Flamini or Jay frigging Bothroyd.

I don't pay that much attention to other clubs, but apart from Man Citeh, it doesn't seem like there are that many transfers so far to me. That's my one consolation at the moment. Deluded as I am.

Similar to what i've been thinking Lizz so we must both be deluded.

Of the teams around us (I don't count the Top 4 after Sunday) the only one that has shown any real intent to do some deals and kick on is Blose - actually I think i've just amde myself feel worse.

Citeh announced that as a 47k sell out.

Can they get away with outright lying? There were thousands of empty seats.

Pretty much nobody seems to have much money to spend this summer.

The vast majority of managers, I can't help observing, seem to be content to make do and mend and get on with it.

Even if we were after Flamini, and with no manager on board it would be a hard sell, I can see Liverpool going for him after shipping Aquilani back to Italy and Mascherano's pending departure.

I think somebody should start a 'Loans' thread.

Ye good idea. Start wiyh NRC. He is no where near good enough if we want to progress. He simply has not got it. Besdes his lack of passing ability. He gives away loads of free kicks cause of his bad timing and his control is limited. I cannot believe the people who still continue to praise him. He has had runs for Villa and never commanded his position. Get rid .....................

I'll join the deluded. There's sod all transfers in the main other than loans and frees.

I expect some strange ones in the last few days, maybe even some "swaps".
