£20million and Ireland would be the best business MON has done.

Ah well - so much for trying to spread positivity!!

I'm positive (mental) enough. I still think we'll get a Champions League place this season.

Fuck me - I'm one of the the happiest clappiest posters on here and even I think that's only possible if Randy withdrew us from thr PL and entered the Welsh league instead!

Why is McGready about as popular as an STD?

Other than the obvious 'because he's shit'.  I have to admit I have never seen him play and I am surprised so many people must have seen him regularly to form their opinions.

Mine is based on watching him play for Ireland - just don't think he'll hack it in the premier league.

Mirror are saying Shorey is going to Celtic as part of the McGeady deal.

You would think we could part ex sidwell to Celtic, they seem to like the odd ginger up there and he might be actually good in that crap league..

not that i want McGeady

Personally I don't think we need a winger, We have Downing, Young A, Albrighton and Bannan, Buying Mcgready would hamper Albrigton's development in my opinion.

That I do understand.

I would like to see Albrighton being a regular starter for us, doubt it very much though.

however, you are making a massive assumption that MON would play him as a winger and not a sweeper.

If we get that, buying Milner was the best business he has done.

Iersonally, I think it's unlikely that a winger with a few tricks is going to be good enough for the Premier League, but more than that, it's just O'Neill buying another bloody winger.  We need to vary our play and buy a striker, yet he persists with his usual tactics/purchases.

I don't think Bannan is ready to be considered as part of the 1st team squad, although I agree Albrighton certainly is.  So for me we have three wingers and to get a good balanced squad with 2 players for each position we need 1 more.  I just don't think McGeady should be that player.

Depends how he's gonna line up though. If he's not after Keane and wants to play 4-1-4-1 with Ash off the front, or even 4-2-3-1 with three rotating behind Gabby then McGeady would make sense and it wouldn't hamper Albrighton's development...

I think Keane would play in effectively a 4-1-4-1 formation. Gabby would be the main player at the front, and Keane would be behind him, interchanging with Downing, Ash and (hopefully) Ireland. There's really not that much difference between a second striker and an attacking midfielder, the distinction seems a little arbitrary to me.

I still think his first choice is an attacking 4-3-3/4-1-4-1 where in some perfect magic Happyland we keep Milner and sign Ireland to play together, but that doesn't seem likely to happen.
