I - indeed, with Petrov and Dunne, their reading of the game, already a strength, has improved with age.

Petrov offers us nothing now, apart from watching the game pass him by as he reads it.He would not get into any of the top eight sides.Lets hope he gets his move to Fulham or Bolton.

Petrov? Bit harsh.

*wink*

Whilst I like Petrov, he's a solid PL footballer, he probably wouldnt get into any of the (other) top eight sides.

He's certainly one of the players we should be prioritising upgrading, in my opinion. Either that, or we don't use him in such a way as to put him under so much pressure as he was last season and see that "dead on 70 minutes" thing increasingly.

I agree that an upgrade is due, but to say he offers us nothing is rubbish.

I think that Petrov can and probably should be improved on sooner or later but "offers us nothing"?
That's just bobbins.

Agree, although I think the reason he was so knackered with 20 minutes to go last season was because of the graft he puts in each game in a 2 man midfield.

We should be looking for a long term replacement though. Not wanting to open old wounds, but I was impressed with Veloso the other night, does a similar job for Sporting.

Petrov is crap or lazy or just not good enough for the prem. He was good in scotland but can only play in england if he's part of a 3 man midfield where he has other people to do the running for him. In a 2 man midfield he just doesn't cover the ground well enough.

An uograde is definatley required but DM is a premium position at the mo and a better replacement would be very expensive.

If i had to think of a word to describe Petrov, "lazy" would be the last one.

Agree fully. It's madness to suggest he's lazy.

Which team in the top 8 would he get into?

O'Neill only sticks with him cuz he parted with £8M for him. He is just not good enough. He gets away with it in a 4-5-1 but is shown up for what he is in a 4-4-2.

Bringing this back on to the promising news, I've seen no news source confirming Heskey might be on his way.  This joy is worthless without confirmation.

To be fair, he did pay alot for NRC too and he dont play him..nor Young,Shorey, beye ,Sidwell and Harewood...

he has wasted loads of money in other areas....

so I dont think its because of the fee, he just loves him but we do need to upgrade on him soon...

I'm off down the church in a minute to light a candle in prayer.

Then I'll call in at the mosque and do whatever they do, too.

If Steve Bruce (who one day fancies the Man Utd job) signs Heskey for the third time he really needs his head seeing to.

That said, finger crossed.
