Flamini from AC Milan, 4 Million Pounds, linked in todays press. Would be a decent player, hardly the 'creative' player I believe we are missing in the centre, still, he'd be decent, especially if Reo-Coker goes.

Considering some of the pap we've gambled on only to find out that they're pap, £4 million for Flamini is excellent value.

He could rotate with Stan or anchor in behind Ireland (cough-cough!) in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Flamini for £4m would be superb business.

If we got him then I'd happily drop Petrov.

Although he's one of Martin's favs.

So Arsenal wanted to keep him and were extremely disaapointed that therie £20m rated man was going out of contract to another CL team. Two seasons on and he's leaving that CL team not only do his ex-gutted team not want Flamini - they may have strength there ( I doubt it) but no other CL team want him.

So, the only way out of his Milan hell is for £4m to a Europa League team that will be battling for qualification to the Europa league next-yera with an outside chance of qualifying for the CL.

What exactly is the attraction? Why exactly would he have to settle for Aston villa? Why exactly is he off the radar for the many clubs better than us? Why do we want him?

I'd want him but whether mon wants him is another story- at that price what is there to lose, but more to the point could we meet his wage demands?

But why has his value dropped so markedly?

I doubt we could match his wages and he's not that great anyway. My memories of him are of an unshaven frenchman who went around kicking people, pausing only to have a go at the referee and wave an imaginary yellow card trying to get his opponent sent off.

We pay for Sidwell 5 million  ?

And Flamini could be 4 million ?

get him in...  Its no brainer ..  Add a Ireland and Keane ( obvioulsy MON wants them) , Clyne at RB and a few others , it starts to look a better team than last season.

If Milner does go, lets just hope its not August 31st before the new signings start appearing. I was half expecting one at least this week so the new player/s can take part in pre season and form a bond, so we start the season strongly.

It wouldn't surprise me if they have every intention of meeting our valuation but leaving it as long as possible so we struggle to get a replacement. Despite their billions we will have an influence on their season.

Its a no brainer in terms of fee, but I bet their wage packets are MILES apart

Of the two U19 England matches i've watched so far I can see why no club other than Blose seem interested in Clyne. He's been woeful

I was saying to a mate i'd sign him a while back, but I think that was based purely on the games against Palace last season. He obviously isnt that good every week

Milner out with Flamini(£4m?), Keane(£6m?) & Ireland (£??) in plus a few quid left in the pot would be absolutely excellent business.

Just got the feeling it wont play out that way.

Your not wrong, he was a decent player for Arsenal as he was the glue that knitted the team together in the Vieira mould, but for me he was one of the least likable midfielders for the reasons you described. Having said that it's been a while since we've had a hard nut in the team so perhaps we could do with a c**t in the side that other fans dislike.

Let's get Ireland, Flamini, Hleb and Robbie Keane in.

We might play some good football then.

...I think a lot depends on whether we get Ireland or Barry or both as part of the milner deal.

If we got Ireland , Barry and keane in exchange for the milner cash then I'd be happy enough, ...

Hold the phone! What's this about Barry?

What I remember about Flamini was that he was always in the ref's face trying to get players booked, got plenty of energy, and could complement Petrov pretty well.
